Montebello Mayor's husband denies claims to drug charges

Montebello Mayor, Christina Cortez's, Ruben Guerrero pleaded not guilty to allegation on drug-related charges in Superior court on Monday. Guerrero was charged with six felony counts of selling methamphetamine and one of the counts occurred near the Montebello Intermediate School. Guerrero is scheduled to appear back in court January 15 to contest the charges. Cortez is still with her husband during these allegations and stated that she trusts her husband and believes that he is innocent of all of the charges that he is facing. Guerrero is currently out of jail on a $60,000 bail and is awaiting trial in the comfort of his home. The investigation is still ongoing and it the case will be continued once the trial begins.
